SEEU RESTRICTED USE LICENSE
Version 1.0, 13 August 2026
License identifier: LicenseRef-SeeU-Restricted-1.0

Copyright (c) 2026 cat4blep. All rights reserved.

This License applies only to versions of SeeU that the Licensor expressly
distributes with this License or identifies as licensed under it. Versions
previously released under another license remain governed by that license.
This License does not withdraw permissions already granted for those versions.

1. Definitions

"Software" means the SeeU source code, executable files, assets, and
documentation supplied with a version covered by this License, but only to the
extent that the Licensor owns or controls the rights in them. Software does not
include third-party components governed by separate licenses.

"Licensor" means the copyright holder identified above.

"Official Build" means an executable JAR that the Licensor publishes through
an official SeeU distribution page controlled by the Licensor, including the
official GitHub, Modrinth, or CurseForge project page, and expressly releases
under this License.

"Pack" means a Minecraft modpack, plugin pack, server pack, or launcher package
that contains the Software together with other mods, plugins, or configuration
and is not primarily a substitute for a standalone SeeU download or mirror.

"Prior Written Permission" means explicit permission from the Licensor in a
signed document, email, or message sent from an account controlled by the
Licensor. The permission must identify its recipient and the permitted activity.
Silence does not constitute permission.

2. Permission to use and include Official Builds

Subject to this License, the Licensor grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide,
royalty-free license to:

(a) download, install, and run unmodified Official Builds on Minecraft clients
and on private or public Minecraft servers, including commercial or monetized
servers;

(b) make reasonable copies of an Official Build for your own installation and
backup;

(c) include and redistribute an exact, unmodified Official Build as part of a
Pack, including a Pack published through a public modpack platform;

(d) reference an Official Build in a Pack manifest so that a platform or
installer downloads it from an official distribution page; and

(e) create, change, and distribute separate configuration files that the
Software is designed to read. Changing settings in such files does not count as
modifying the Software.

These permissions do not authorize the sale, licensing, or standalone
distribution of the Software.

3. Conditions for Packs

Every Pack that includes or delivers the Software must satisfy all of these
conditions:

(a) It must use the byte-for-byte contents of an Official Build. It must not
patch, repackage, obfuscate, optimize, or otherwise alter the Official Build.

(b) Its description or accompanying notices must identify SeeU and cat4blep,
link to https://github.com/cat4blep/SeeU, and include this License or a link to
it.

(c) It must not claim authorship of SeeU or imply endorsement by the Licensor.

(d) It must not charge a separate fee for SeeU or use the Pack permission to
operate a standalone download, mirror, or substitute distribution of SeeU.

(e) It must comply with the terms of Minecraft, the distribution platform, and
all third-party components.

A manifest that downloads an Official Build from an official distribution page
is permitted and preferred. Direct bundling of the exact Official Build is also
permitted under this section.

4. Restrictions

Unless Section 2 permits the activity or the Licensor gives Prior Written
Permission, you may not:

(a) modify, patch, translate, adapt, port, repackage, merge, or create a
derivative work from any part of the Software;

(b) compile or build the source code, or publish or distribute a build created
from the source code;

(c) copy, publish, distribute, sublicense, sell, rent, lend, mirror, host, or
otherwise make available the source code, a modified build, an unofficial
build, or the Software on a standalone basis;

(d) use any part of the source code or assets in another project;

(e) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the
extent that applicable law gives you a right that this License cannot restrict;
or

(f) remove or alter a copyright, authorship, trademark, attribution, or license
notice.

The Licensor grants no rights by implication. The Licensor reserves every right
not granted in this License.

5. Public GitHub repository

GitHub's Terms of Service may grant GitHub and its users limited rights to view,
host, and fork content made available in a public GitHub repository. Those
platform rights apply only to the extent required by GitHub's Terms of Service.
They do not grant permission to modify the Software, distribute it outside the
permitted scope, publish modified builds, or use it in another project.

6. Ownership and third-party rights

The Licensor licenses the Software and does not sell it. The Licensor retains
all right, title, and interest in the Software. Third-party components remain
subject to their own licenses. This License does not reduce rights that a
third-party license grants directly to you. This License grants no trademark
rights.

7. Termination

This License terminates automatically if you breach it. Upon termination, you
must stop using and distributing the Software and delete all copies in your
possession or control, except where applicable law requires retention. Sections
6, 8, 9, and 10 survive termination.

8. Disclaimer of warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOU USE THE SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE LICENSOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY
CLAIM, LOSS, OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE,
WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE.

10. Severability and acceptance

If a court holds a provision unenforceable, that provision shall be limited to
the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in
effect. A failure to enforce a provision does not waive it.

By exercising any permission granted by this License, you accept its terms.
